Via Federico Spoltore

Federico Spoltore (Lanciano, 18 July 1902 – Lanciano, 15 April 1988) was an Italian painter.
Since early youth showed great artistic sensibility, attracting the attention of local artists such as Basilio Cascella and Francesco Paolo Michetti. After high school, attended in his hometown, thanks to a grant of the Province, he moved to Rome to study at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1924.

It was a very popular portrait painter and received several commissions public during the visit of Adolf Hitler in Italy, he did make a double portrait of the German chancellor and Benito Mussolini, portrayed numerous members of the royal families of Italy and Bulgaria, Stalin, Truman, Einstein and Pope Pius XI.
